Heath, a Brunswick native, began her broadcasting career in 1989 at WMAZ in Macon. She worked as a weathercaster and community service director. She competed in the Miss America Pageant System, finishing fourth as Miss Macon in 1982 and second as Miss Brunswick-Golden Isles in 1985.

Heath has performed at Six Flags Over Georgia and was a semi-finalist on Star Search in Atlanta. In 1998, she traveled to Japan to perform at the Cherry Blossom Festival. She also appeared on the Jones Gospel Hour.

Heath is a member of the Bob Cummings and Reflections Band, Bethel AME Church, the Albany, Georgia Chapter of Links, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She also serves as a member of the Georgia Humanities Council. She formerly served on the boards of Albany Technical College and Inc. of Albany. The Georgia Association of Broadcasters honored her with the GABBY Award for Best On-Air Personality.
