While there, she mostly worked on high-profile problems such as human interest, health, and criminal cases. She received numerous honors for her outstanding work at the station, including the Associated Press Award, five Emmy nominations, and Professional Journalists honors.

Her reportage included an in-depth look at Cleveland policing and the chemical leak in East Palestine. Micaela also recorded other interviews, including one about a man’s death, which resulted in a change in the legislation, and another about a teen who was wrongfully convicted.
