Rodney Dunigan is an American journalist who has been working as an assistant news director at WSYX ABC 6 since August 2022. He started at the channel in October 2017 as an anchor, investigative reporter, and producer. Before Columbus, Dunigan worked at WFTS in Tampa, Florida as a reporter, a Scripps “Leadership Champion,” and a member of the ethics committee.

Dunigan joined WSYX ABC 6 as an assistant news director in August 2022. In this role, he helps the staff at WSYX ABC 6 produce compelling stories with a focus on liability reporting. Because of his efforts at the station, he was selected by business officials to participate in the Sinclair “Emerging Leaders Program.” He also works as a service coordinator for WSYX, supporting the station’s volunteer efforts around Central Ohio.

After joining ABC 6, he served as an anchor, investigative reporter, and producer. He later served as a studio host, a weekend managing editor, and an anchor before being elevated to his current position at the station. Before Columbus, Dunigan worked at WFTS in Tampa, Florida as a reporter, a Scripps “Leadership Champion,” and a member of the Ethics Committee.

Before moving to Tampa, he worked as a morning anchor for WATN in Memphis, Tennessee. at addition, he worked at newsrooms in Nashville, Dayton, and Jackson, Mississippi. Dunigan has garnered many Associated Press honors and Emmy nominations for his work. He has also worked with news teams that have earned Emmy awards for general news excellence. Furthermore, he has been featured in magazines such as The Communicator and Nashville’s SixFifteen Magazine.

Aside from journalism, he is passionate about aiding the young in his neighborhood. In this role, he has participated in numerous community service projects with school systems and volunteered as a “Big” with Big Brothers Big Sisters. He has received recognition for his contributions to the community from Iota Phi Lambda Business & Professional Sorority, which named him one of its “Outstanding Business Leaders.”He also serves as a NABJ Leadership Academy Mentor and a Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity member.
