Anderson Cooper was born June 3, 1967, is an American broadcast journalist and political analyst who presently hosts CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360°. He works as a CBS News 60 minutes journalist in addition to his employment at CNN.

He began traversing the world after graduating from Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts in 1989, shooting footage of war-torn places for Channel One News.

Cooper joined CNN in 2001 and was given his own show, Anderson Cooper 360°, in 2003, which he has hosted ever since. He became well-known for his on-the-ground coverage of breaking news events, and his coverage of Hurricane Katrina considerably raised his prominence.

He began his news career on Channel One as a fact-checker. The cable network creates news segments for distribution in schools across the country. He felt tired with his day-to-day work after a few months and traveled to Southeast Asia with a video camera.
