Ambrose works as a meteorologist at WDBJ. He is thrilled to be back in the Commonwealth, broadcasting Southwest Virginia’s weather. His career began in February 2018, when he worked for WDBJ7’s sister station, WALB News10 in Albany, Georgia. While in Albany, he broadcast several tropical systems, including the devastation-causing Category Five Hurricane Michael. In addition, he was on air for countless severe weather events, including numerous tornadoes.

In July 2020, he moved to the coast and worked for the Fox affiliate in Savannah, Georgia. Two weeks after starting at the station, he broadcast Hurricane Isaias, which passed approximately 65 miles off the coast. In April 2022, he remained on air for more than 120 minutes while an EF-4 tornado ripped into a hamlet about 30 minutes west of Savannah. This was one of the strongest tornadoes to hit the United States that year.
