She relocated to Los Angeles, where KCBS recruited her as a news assistant. She had her first on-air gig in Roswell, New Mexico, working as a “one-man band.” She served as an anchor and reporter in El Paso, Texas; Orlando, Florida; and Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Her favorite task, though, is to broadcast space shuttle launches from the Kennedy Space Center.
