Leo Hirsbrunner is an American meteorologist who works for WDBJ as meteorologist on WDBJ7 Morning and WDBJ7 Noon. In August 2000, he began working at the station as weekend meteorologist. He formerly served as chief meteorologist for WBOY in Clarksburg, West Virginia.

Hirsbrunner honed his forecasting skills while working from the New England shoreline to the mountains of West Virginia. He belongs to the American Meteorological Society and is a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist.

He has always wanted to be a meteorologist since he was a child. He was five years old when the “Storm of the Century” hit in 1978. The searing winds and snow-covered landscape sparked his interest in weather. He continues to share his love with students through his monthly visits to several local schools.
