Dowling began his broadcasting career at WGN-TV as a morning news anchor and writer. As an anchor, he was responsible for developing web articles, editing films, and hosting special shows. Sean was hired as an Eye-opener TV and production assistant in September 2010, and he worked there for eight months. Between May 2011 and 2013, he was elevated to on-air co-anchor and writer at WGN-TV in Dallas.
