Erin Burnett was born on July 2, 1976. She is an American news anchor who presently hosts on CNN. She previously worked for CNBC as the co-host of Squawk on the Street and as the host of Street Signs. Burnett has also appeared on NBC’s Meet the Press, Today, MSNBC’s Morning Joe, and NBC Nightly News, as well as The Celebrity Apprentice on occasion.

Erin Burnett began her career as a financial analyst for Goldman Sachs’ investment banking business. She was given a job at CNN as a writer and booker for CNN’s ‘Moneyline’ while still working at Goldman Sachs. She left the post, however, to become a vice president of Citigroup’s digital media division, CitiMedia.

She moved to work as an anchor and stock editor for Bloomberg Television after leaving CitiMedia. She hosted CNBC’s ‘Street Signs’ from 2005 to 2011 and co-anchored ‘Squawk on the Street’ with Mark Haines.

In 2010, she performed an investigation report on the chemical company Transammonia, which was doing business in Iran. According to her study, Transammonia’s owned company in the United States used to import ammonia from Iran.

Transammonia was forced to send a press release to congressional leaders in response to her investigative journalism, indicating that Transammonia’s Swiss company would terminate its contract with Iran and cease doing business with them “as soon as possible.” Her investigative investigation was nominated for an Emmy in 2011.
