Ruelle is a New York native who grew up in The Bronx before moving to South Miami with her family when she was young. She is West Indian, with family from the United States and the British Virgin Islands. Ruelle began her journalism career at Florida International University in Miami in 2015.
Two years later, she relocated 500 miles to Tallahassee to pursue her education at Florida A&M University’s School of Journalism and Graphic Communications.
